Pellet vs. Honeycomb Activated Carbon for VOC Control

Compare pressure drop, capacity, strength and installation considerations for two common gas-phase carbon forms.

Pellet vs. Honeycomb Activated Carbon for VOC Control

Pellet carbon

Extruded pellets provide a durable packed bed with useful adsorption capacity and controlled particle diameter. They suit vessels where gas distribution and bed depth can be engineered.

Honeycomb carbon

Honeycomb blocks provide straight channels and low airflow resistance. They are often considered for high-volume, lower-concentration exhaust after dust, mist and temperature have been controlled.

Selection inputs

Compare VOC composition, concentration, humidity, temperature, airflow, allowable pressure drop, fire protection and replacement method before choosing the media form.
